I reread that and it sounded harsh. Not my intent. Just trying to make light of the situation. I have some friends and relatives who own small businesses and depend on the students and sr's to fill in minimum wage positions. They do agree that the minimum wage should be raised, but it should be tied to some economic indicator that is a little more steady rather than a politician pandering for votes from the masses. Recently (in the past 5 years or so), people apply for those positions intending them to be some career stepping stone (ticket taker to popcorn server? c'mon!) to a well paid position. They know the wage when they hire, but gripe every minute of every day until they either leave or get fired.
