Default The main reason I hate buying games in Australia...

Average price of a game in Australia ($50-60 for expansion packs)
    http://www.game.com.au/viewtitle?code=CC3REDPC
    http://www.ebgames.com.au/PC/product.cfm?ID=11640
    http://www.jbhifionline.com.au/Produ...T-3-PREMIER-ED

    Compared to:
    http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1218015169642
    http://www.amazon.com/Command-Conque...6575466&sr=8-2

At the current exchange rate: AUD$46.87 + Shipping

I know that shipping and a retailing bumps up the price a bit, but seriously... I can't work out why Australians pay so much more than everyone else.

I have a few friends in Australia, I went to buy one a 4870x2 and found out it would cost an extra $211 because of the border taxes!!

I feel for you guys over there!
It's like JFK announcing the moon mission. He had no expertise in space travel, and no way of knowing if it would work. He just announced "we're going to the moon" and then they made it happen because everyone was on the same page and working towards the same goal. If he had said "well, let's get some people in space, and we'll see how far out we can get, and if I find someone to make a rocket strong enough, we could possibly approach the moon's orbit and maybe land" it wouldn't have happened.

Hmmmmm.... Surely there's a way around that....
“Do not trust people like me. I will take you to museums, and parks, and monuments, and kiss you in every beautiful place, so that you can never go back to them without tasting me like blood in your mouth. I will destroy you in the most beautiful way possible, and when I leave you will finally understand why storms are named after people.”

Only way to get cheap games is ebay (the joy of getting support from EA for that) or ordering it overseas.

'course it ain't fair, but Australia is a smaller market than, say, Western Europe or the US/Canada.

Also we have no R18 rating for games in Australia so the Grand Theft autos we get have been edited and the manhunt games are banned here.

We're smaller, but not that smaller.
