So, I know I left this project for about a year, and I'm sorry I didn't say anything about it, but anyway I'm back now, and this time I hope to finish it. I just started again and I have gotten a bit of progress. I noticed there have been a few sweet car mods in my absence also!

So here is the new workspace:

I made room for a 120mm fan on the back panel. Previously not even an 80mm could fit. I cut out part of the recessed area and flipped it around.
original is top left, and the other 2 are after the bondo and the fan hole.

Here is the front panel. I will be building in the card reader, and I have it positioned correctly so when I put it in it slides right up to the face of the reader that I bondoed in there.

You can also see my riveter in the background. It's quite handy.

Glad to see you're back. Looking forward to seeing this done. Love the car themes as well.

    Thanks for the feedback guys.

I salvaged the card reader and the usb, firewire, and audio ports from an old Compaq that was laying around.
I am planning to have it all seamlessly integrated into the font panel.

The ports can fit inside the metal holder, and then line up with the plastic front part. But those don't fit inside a normal 5.25 bay. So I'll need to cut them down.

So I need to decide if I want the ports left aligned or centered.
I have made a helpful image to show each.

I'd probably have to go with that one, as well.

I like the left better, and if you can do something good on the right with the extra space, that's even better.
