why not let's have a TBCS boycott of UPS? If they suck, let's be more active than just a /rant here and there? I would pay for better service.

UPS is my carrier of choice honestly, I have had issues with all of them but fedex has left thousand dollar equipment sitting on my porch in the rain at 9 o'clock in the morning. No matter how cheap usps has incredibly slow service and horrible tracking. Fedex once called me saying they could deliver my package(replacement cell phone aka my only means of communication) because the roads/weather was too bad. I then drove to go get the phone taking all back country roads in a 2000 Pontiac sunfire to pick up my package and see their trucks in the garage being waxed. More like you didnt want to get your trucks dirty fedex. So honestly they all have their downfalls but UPS is the best in my area.
"Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds"
That's one thing that USPS has going for them.
Priority mail is nearly always delivered in 2-3 days. If not, then it might be 9 days before you see it, which is pretty bad.
The latter of what you said has been my experience almost always in recent history, also one of my orders even though hand delivered through customs and carried out of customs by a usps employee I was told they had no idea where my package was and it wasnt in their hands.
Their "tracking" system isn't really for tracking. It's just "Delivery Confirmation" and any tracking updates are only because somebody was nice enough to scan your package in.
I just got a package from brazil (registered priority), the tracking (up to it leaving the country) was on their website, but the USPS tracking only showed it arriving at the post office and being delivered. When I get stuff from China occasionally, the updates do carry over to the USPS website.
I find that with their cheap package services (media mail, etc.), the packages only get scanned in at the processing center about half of the time.
I prefer USPS because I'm in an apartment and only USPS has a key to put the packages inside the building.
UPS is my second choice, since I'm very close to the office. If they miss me because I'm at work, and they always do, I can run there after work and pick it up. Sometimes I end up waiting til the next day because the driver still isn't back.
I pretty much despise FedEx. First, they will leave the tag, I sign for it to be left at the door, then come back to find a tag the next day saying they need a signature in person. Okay, I guess I have to go pick it up, then. Well, that's a 30 minute race against time to get there before they close, then it's usually at the FedEx Home office, which is on the other side of town. If I don't make it, I have to call and set up a delivery time, or try to have it delivered to work(big no-no), or wait until the next Saturday when they will then show up at 7:45AM and try to drive off while I'm stumbling to the door, then running out after them in my pajamas. Nothing like a grown man chasing a FedEx truck, flailing his arms like he's trying to fly. But I did get my package.
