People are stupid; given proper motivation, almost anyone will believe almost anything. You should be ok in there...assuming it's part of the mission. If you fly over, you'll get shot down. You can break down the fence to steal the hummer, but apart from that, there's nothing there.
If you steal the copters, you'll be shot down before you can escape. It's not worth the hassle.
