I'd say backlit, or from the top with Cold Cathode.
If you go HERE you can see how lights look from different positions with the Plexi Simulator.

Dude, that window came out great! Did you do that with sandpaper?

    Eclectios - Great resource man!

    b4i7 - I'm interested. Details?

jdbnsn - I used sandpaper only. I started off with 60 grit and finished up with 400 wet. Should have taken shots of the process, but you see the time stamp on the post.. I wasn't thinking about it. What I did was took an image of the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor, and made a black outline of it. Then, I printed that out and taped it to the back of the plexi. Next, I masked the front of the plexi, and traced the outline. I cut out the area to be sanded, and went to work.

Things are moving a lot slower on this than I originally intended. Work and life in general keep getting in the way. Top that off with looking for a house to buy, and it's tough to balance it all. Oh yeah, more good news! I've been contracting with First Energy Corporation as a Network Analyst since March. The contract was 12 months, and a possible job offer at that time. Well, they kinda jumped the gun on the offer. I accepted a permanent position on Wednesday. My first official date of employment will be July 2nd.

What a great job. fantastic. If the USN emblem wasn't so boring I might look at giving it a try. Keep up the great work.

    Blasphemy!

I'm not much for symbols like that either, but that's just me, lol. Pretty good job though.

    b4i7,

Uh oh, did we just find a go to guy for etching?

Do you do etching professionally? Anytime I see a CAD program I think someone has access to some really cool expensive equipment.

    SgtM,

    Congrats on the job.

I have become way to comfortable in my job security. I know in the real world it's always tough.
