From this line alone I am pretty confident that the answer is 'your shadow'

A few more to add to the collection:

I pass before the sun, yet I make not a shadow. What am I?

Although my cow is dead, I still beat her...what a racket she makes!

What can go up a chimney down, but not down a chimney up?

And here's one right up Jon's alley:

We are very little creatures, all of us have different features. One of us in glass is set; one of us you'll find in jet. Another you may see in tin, and a fourth is boxed within. If the fifth you should pursue, it can never fly from you. What are we?

I am struggling with this one.
the riddle is emphasizing 5 words:
    -glass
    -jet
    -tin
    -boxed
    -you
The "tiny creatures with different features" are found within each of these things or words. They are all containers. Technically, bacteria is correct but I don't think that is what the riddle is teasing out. I'll keep working.

This is my answer to jdbnsn's politician riddle.

The politician was Theodore Roosevelt and was about to give a speech and was carrying the thick manuscript in his jacket when a man attempted to assassinate Roosevelt by shooting him. However, the bullet struck the speech in his pocket, slowing the bullet enough so that the shot was not fatal. Thus the speech saved Roosevelt's life, allowing him to stay in office, even though he had not yet delivered it!

That leaves only this unsolved riddle of mine, it's pretty tough and if you can solve it I'll post some really hard ones.

"5 points will be rewarded to thee, if thou can make sense of this one, two, and three"

Cite one two-worded palindrome that can accurately describe the three-way relationship in the atomic particles of the non-metalic portion in lye.
