That paint job is looking awesome. I like the blue. +rep
And this is drawing closer to the end by the day. Just spent the last four hours watching the Olympics and working on some flames:
And that is the first side. Props to my bud Chris McNaight.
Missed a spot, had to very carefully go in with the razor blade and snag it.
One side down
The next side drawn out--not quite symmetrical, as we're onto our second sixer by this point.
Chris admiring his work.
Brought it home, threw down a blue base. Green goes over the top, and then the marbling effect, which is going to happen in the morning.
lookin awesome man! I love the waterdrops after the clear went down. +rep
Those flames look great man! It's coming along nicely, keep it up Joe!

A teaser:
I'll get the rest of the pics up later tonight.
Now that I have had a chance to look at the flames themselves...I have found that the wrinkle effect hasn't worked as I hoped it would. The paints reacted in a bad way--the same way that I experienced on the back panel of Frank. However, I'm going to leave it this way--I've already prepped and laid an intercoat clear down. Where the wrinkle effect did work, however, it is very subtle. Oh well, live and learn.
Some pics:
I'm also debating whether to remask the flames and do the water drops on the side now--we'll see over the next few days. I've also still got to build a power/reset switch plate, and install it. Ditto the hard drive cage and the optical drive mount.
lookin awesome! diggin those flames
