how about laptop smart cards.. they are supposed to be secure but they are way to easy to bypass
ohh i gots a new one .. DVD decoder cards .. they were used for old systems to allow them to play dvds better without stuttering .but were introduced way to late and were phased out in like 6 months after relase
how about the 3.5" floppy drive/disk? seems pretty well useless now, with all the super capacity flash cards for so cheap. hell a micro sd card is smaller than my thumbnail, yet the one that came in my phone will hold 355.5 times as much as a 3.5" floppy disk willnot to mention a flash card is a lot quieter than a floppy

The trouble with floppy drives is that it's another place for air and dust to enter the computer. So, when you build the computer it works fine, then you don't use it for ages. By the time you do need to, it's too dirty and doesn't work any more.
Having run an internet cafe, I can confirm this. I thought about fitting velcro tape over the opening, but had a better idea. When I bought the next batch of PCs I didn't fit floppies, and with the money I saved I bought a couple of USB ones (which came with the driver on a floppy. Oh the irony!) to be used as necessary.
So, back to the topic:
