Yes, youre right. The construction will never have the same strength again as it used to be..... but... it overall suprised even me how sturdy the whole thing is now. It can easily be transported now without falling apart.
Thanx man, yes paper or cardboard templates give you a lot of information in advance of cutting precious metal or plastic. Good tip !
Started selecting model-parts for the kit-bashen.
Also have some in chrome-silver colour, might be able to use that too.
Some of the parts.
What you reckon, is this from a kawasaki ?
The side-panels were way to bare, so I need some wings growing there. Trying some setups in Sketchup.
Something like this, with bombs, two red lasers and missilles underneath the wings.
Started doodling in Sketchup over the wing design.
Sketchup supplied me with the measurements, the smaller wings are scaled 1 in 3.
With this piece of Forex
Using a sharp scalpel and a ruler.
The same with the smaller wings.
And here are the 4 wings.
And this is how I will mount them.
The way you've fit so many pieces together so smoothly is very impressive.
Interesting idea with the wings. It's a step away from the 117, but hey, that's why we say 'inspired by'.![]()

luv the paint skillzAnd it IS a valid idea. It is also a lot more practical indeed when using the case. But this time I choose for IMpractical ( or is it INpractical? ) and so i'll be using massive-oh-my-god-I-broke-a-piece-of-again wings !
Made some studs, this is how they will be mounted.
Marking it nice and clean.
Setting it up with black construction kit.
Wiping it afterwards with liquid soap.
wow, that reminds me of a spike strip.
sweet work on the case
Lookin goooood. And yes, it's impractical. Hahaha
