Well, after getting the 3G module today for the Gigabyte T1028X netbook tablet, I did a speed test.
Considering that is 3G, not bad!
And for comparison, my now 'old' netbook, the Samsung NC10.

This is like the best company around. I'm going to do some more digging for one but once you get one you don't change. Setup fee was $950

I did a little looking, and it looks like you could definitely get actually decent speeds with satellite for lower monthly fees than what you're paying now...it would probably have a pretty hefty initial equipment fee though...crazy that if you buy similar equipment in the US or Europe, the equipment costs ~$130, but if you buy it in Africa it's over $3,000.

Ya I'm already stuck where I am sadly I can't justify buying another setup close to or over $1000
