I'm right hand, left eye, and like dr.walrus, my eyesight is significantly better in my left eye than in my right (no incorrectable impairment though, thankfully). For bows I go right because my right side is stronger. With rifles it depends; if I'm supporting the rifle I go right for the same reason as bows, but if the rifle is supported I switch and go lefty, and personally I find it a lot more comfortable. It's been a while since I used a shotgun, but when I did I just stayed with my right side, again for strength (accuracy is a little less important there anyways). For pistols, I'm like Spawn and use both eyes. I forget where I saw this first, but there's a general rule of thumb I like to use with pistols; if you have to really aim carefully to hit the target with a pistol, you're using the wrong gun.

With a shotgun basically I couldn't hit a damn thing. The issues with my right eye are not correctable - let's just say if I had two the same I'd never be able to drive.

For shotgun shooting there is such a thing as a crossover stock - it has a dogleg that allows you to put it to your right shoulder and still line up with your left eye.
