It's nice to see a franchise that seems to better itself with each release, I just hope they don't go too far...

..wait, what? You hope they don't make the game too good??

Of course that's not what I meant :p My point is, Crysis is improving with each release as the changes being made are good. A lot of franchises will eventually go too far by changing too much or changing the wrong thing however, thus creating a game which is a significant step backwards when compared to it's predecessors. What I'm saying is, Crysis = good, Warhead = better, Crysis2 = very good, Crysis 3 = crap. As a hypothetical example

Ah. Well, I have faith in Crytek. I've played every one of their games (Far Cry and the Crysis games...interestingly, Crytek had nothing to do with Far Cry 2...) and every one has been better than the last...and improved (imo) the right things.

I was thinking about Far Cry actually after I finished Warhead yesterday. Is that worth a play too? I'm not usually a huge fan of FPS but I did enjoy my time with Crysis for the most part and I remember Far Cry being one of the big names when it was new. Did it live up to the hype or will I be a bit disappointed if I move from Crysis back to that?

I loved FarCry 2. Being able to light grass on fire to smoke out enemies was awesome fun. I also liked the self heal mini cut scenes where your character pulls bullets from his/her wounds with pliers. The story in FarCry 2 is good and dependent on the character you choose and the buddies you keep alive the game is never the same the second time around.

I read reviews on both Far Cry games after my last post and am currently winning 2 low bid items on Ebay :p They both sound and look pretty good so we'll see and maybe I'll win them! Seems odd that no.2 is nothing to do with no.1 though...

Yup...nothing to do with each other and they were made by different studios. Ubisoft (who made Far Cry 2) claimed that it was the "true sequel" to Far Cry, but since nothing about them is similar, I'm not really really sure where they're trying to pull that from..

That aside, both are good games, imo. Completely different, but both are good.

Well I just managed to get a copy of each off ebay and it's cost me precisely £5.33 so I don't really care if I like them to be honest! I also spent another £40 on Play.com but meh it was worth it

I'm playing portal 2 too. That’s an awesome game with many stages. I’m waiting to finish trophies stage in order to play dragon age or mass effect.
