Hey guyz. sorry about the delay. I moved and I had no internet plus I was really busy. I still dont even have a decent net connect right now. I'm working on it. Here's a nice update for you mod junkies,...

    Mar-28-2007 (Blackout)

    Old pump tower.

I need the new one to reach from the top of the case to the bottom of the case. Thats long.

    Large sheet of 5052 aluminum.

    Jig sawing a piece off,...

Here's the peice after routering the edges to sizes and taping and drawing all the lines.

    Long as hell.

Here a paper mock up of what I need.

Old pump tower with pumps. And a hose. Before I continue I need to figure out where on the new tower the pumps will be. I have to make sure they clear everything and they just look nice.

Now,... what I want to know is what the hell was I thinking before? I mean look how close these pumps are. The hose would of been right up on the old shields. I dont know. Maybe I didnt care. Well,... I care now so things are going to change.

    Hmmm,....

Old shields. Whats the overal height of this thing or depth.

Uhhhh,.... I dont know. I cant tell you what the height was because I cant remember and you cant make it out in the pic,... just wanted to show you that I was measuring with a ruler.

The new shields or covers I want to look somewhat like the hdd rack covers. The old shields broke the whole look in my opinion. What I dont know about is whether of not I like the stacked look of the pump shields and the tower. How the shields sits on the surface like that,... leaving a seam. I dont like that.

Hmmmm,.... how long should I make it?!?! *ponders*

New pump covers. Notice all the numbers. It took me a good day to figure them out. I mean I was tired as hell and on any other day it would of took a lot less time but these numbers are for bending 1/16" aluminum over a specific pipe with a diameter of 1 - 11/16. This is how I know how long the sheet should be before bending. This is so that I can cut out all the design work and then bend knowing the after the bend the height and length will be right on. You just cant bend in this type of situation. Shut up tribal. Move on,...

WHAM! Works! Except I messed up the length. It's to long but all the numbers work! Dead on.

Now,... I want this new tower to be narrower then the last one. About a 1/2" actually. To do this I have to cut away the teeth or whatever the hell they are on the pump rings. This is will save me more then a 1/4".

    Done. This actually looks nice.

Alright,... aluminum for the pump covers. I'm gluing them together so they can be cut together.

    The tower and the covers.

The cover design. Notice the top hole is two circles. This is because that hole will be just in the bend. The bend will reshape the hole. I'm making the holes longer to accomodate the slight positioning into the bend. What you see there is and 1/8" offset. I changed it to 1/6"(gut told me to do it) and thats what was needed.

    Tape cut away.

    Pulled apart and filed.

    Ready for bending.

    Bending.

Damn thats good **** right there.

    Thats just so perfect.

You see that!!! exactly 4 - 5/8" long!!! Which means,...

Oh ****,... I though I took a pic of the height too? What the hell? Anyways,... the height was exactly 2-1/6". That **** is so on I was practically peeing on myself out of excitement. So! here are both of them! Practically the same!

It's late as hell. I think I'll stay home fromthe studio today and go tomorrow. ****.

Hello boys and girls! My name is TribalOVERKILL! Today kids,... I'm going to teach you how to accidently cut of your finger! YAY!!! WHOA. I'm back. Don't know that the hell that was but ok Got an update! It's a tiny one though. But it's all good.

    Apr-17-2007 (Blackout)

4,... 4" x 4-58" sheets of lian-li aluminum. They are paired. I'm using the old lian-li aluminum that was left over from when I cut out my a window for a v2000. That was before this case.

Ok. Here are the side shield panels for the pumps. Looks just like the HDD one except this one is a stubby version. I spent a great deal of time trying to figure out whether or not I want to use the same design and,.... I did. Want to try and keep the look going. It's all drawn out with tape cut away.

Center punched and step drilled up to an 1/8".

First one all cut out and now its time for the second one. This lian-li aluminum is a harder alloy then what I use. So it's takes a bit longer to cut because it's a bit more of a pain in the arse to cut. It's a bit thicker too.

Both all done with the scroll saw. Time for filing.

To save a little bit of time I used the table sander to shape what I could.

Not quite done filing yet but almost. I gave up. Was to tired to carry on.

I've been there in the studio from 3am till 4:30pm. Spent a lot of time just cleaning up the place. There was s@#$ everywhere! I also did some rearranging too. blue-fusion is going to be working in there too on his project. I pulled the table out from the wall so it can be used on both sides. I movedd all my tubes and stuff I had on that side of the table into the other room with the rest of the material. I like it now. More work room. Peace.

Did you win it? The Tomb Raider case won first place but I dont know who that guy is? Is it you? That trophy reservoir is HOT! I so didnt want to give it up! I took 15 million pics of it! I have some videos too. It is by far the best reservoir I have made yet! I have to make another variation of it or something. God I miss it so much I still have to post the worklog for it. My connection to the internet is like retarded at the moment. Cant figure out why I cant connect by cat 5. I'll figure it out and will eventually show how it was made.

I know who you are now,... you did chemical industrial. Thats a nice computer man. I loved the shape of that thing. How it sinks in instead of just having flat sided like a box. I think you did an awesome job on it. Question,... did you weld that frame together yourself?
