There are tons of robotic gadgets you can get as kits or premade that interface with a PC. The coolest of these IMO are the homemade ones people make with their Robosapiens Most of these use serial cable commands in ASCII or simple apps written for USB or USB-UIRT connections.
www.evosapien.com is a fave site. Here they have tons of mods with how-to worklogs.

It's not the first walking PC. Not by a long shot! Of course, if you want to get into a debate as to what constitutes walking, the difference between walking and crawling, etc...bah.You can have the first walking PC Case:
